Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama scored his first MLS goal in Montreal Impact’s 1-2 loss at the hands of Toronto on Thursday morning.

Toronto had taken a first-half lead through Piatti but Wanyama was to restore parity for the Thierry Henry side in the 53rd minute with a well-taken header.

Altidore however had other ideas as he ensured Montreal left empty handed with a goal a minute from time. The loss leaves Impact third in a group that has Torornto, New England and DC United.

Next for Wanyama and co is a tie against Vancouver Whitecaps on Monday 14 September.

Since his arrival in the MLS earlier in the year from Tottenham Hotspur, Wanyama has managed eight games; the player clocking the entire minutes in all of them receiving two yellow cards in the process.
