Mathare United head coach Salim Ali has insisted that they are still in preseason despite leading his charges to their first win of the season on Monday afternoon.
Mathare saw off Zoo FC -0 in Kasarani and despite the positive result, Ali believes that his charges are still finding their footing after a late start to the campaign.

“We are still in preseason in a season. I think our first three games were to gauge where we are in matters fitness and I think we will be having a clear view of where the team is in our fourth game,” Ali said after the game.
There had been rumors’ that the former Ulinzi Stars tactician was contemplating leaving the club due to pressure something he vehemently denied.
“When you win games you are meant to be happy and I am happy today. I am not under any pressure as I think we were still lagging behind the other teams. We had conceded seven goals in our first two games and you normally try and at least reduce the goals in your next game but Im glad we didn’t only stop the goals but scored too,” Ali added.
Next for Mathare and Ali is a tie against is a tie against Bandari FC on Friday 22, January 2020.
