Egypt national team head coach Hossam El-Badry has handed six call-ups to his foreign-based players ahead of this month’s AFCON Qualifier doubleheader against Kenya and Comoros.

 

Badry has handed a call up to inform Galatasaray’s striker Mostafa Mohamed, Arsenal’s Mohammed Elneny and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Ittihad Jeddah’s defender Ahmed Hegazi, winger Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan of Aston Villa and striker Ahmed ‘Kouka’ Hassan of Olympiacos FC.

A statement from the Egyptian federation via Ahram Online noted: “We sent official letters to the teams of our foreign-based players according to FIFA’s agenda be ready ahead of the trip to Nairobi on 23 March,” Egypt national team director Mohamed Barakat said.

 

Aston Villa left-back Ahmed Elmohamady, PAOK winger Amr Warda, and Yeni Malatyaspor left-back Karim Hafez are out of Egypt’s squad.

 

Egypt are set to player Kenya in Nairobi on 25 March, four days before hosting Comoros in the 6th round at Cairo International Stadium.

 

The Pharaoh’s, a record seven-time African champions, are on top of Group G r with 8 points, tied with second placed Comoros. Stars are placed third with three points with Togo trailing the group with one point.
