Harambee Stars defender Aboud Omar has helped FC Ionikos to the Greek Super League promotion after being declared Champions of the country’s Super 2 League following their 2-1 win over Ergotelis in their last game of the season on Wednesday evening.

 

Ionikos finished the season on 53 points after 27 games with second place Xanthi being second with 51 points despite their 1-0 win over Levadiakos too in the day.

Omar who managed the full minutes in the game saw his side go behind on the hour mark through Kokkinis after a goalless first half. Ionikos however turned the game in their favor after Mumin restored parity in the 74th minute before Manalis confirmed their promption with a goal nine minutes from time.

 

Abud joined the club in September 2022 after almost going for a year without a club.
