Despite the reports, Pepeta can confirm that the player has been allowed by his club, IF Elfsborg, to travel to Belgium and complete a deal with KAA Gent. The player is expected at the club offices later today to agree on personal terms and complete his medicals over the weekend.
These reports too have been confirmed by Elfsborg’s manager who in an interview with a section of the Swedish tabloids revealed that the player had been allowed to leave the club even though he was coy on his destination.
“It is true that Joseph has been given permission to visit a new club and get acquainted there,” he said.
The Harambee Stars defender joined Elfsborg in 2019 and has been an important player for the team where they finished second last season; an outing that will see the club participate in the UEFA Europa League.
He joins Gent who finished seventh in the Belgian top league last season.
