Rwanda national team captain Haruna Niyonzima has been featured in FIFA’s Century Club.
The recognition is given to players who have played 100 or more “A” (senior) internationals for their country with the midfielder earning his 105 caps for his country in their loss to Mali on Thursday night.

The AS Kigali veteran made his senior international debut for Rwanda in 2006 and has scored six times in the process and becomes the only Rwanda international to achieve the milestone.
The 31-year-old is part of the Amavubi squad which will be up against Kenya’s Harambee Stars in a dead rubber slated for Monday 15, November 2021.
As of 16 October 2021, a total of 575 footballers have played in 100 or more “A” international matches for their respective nations, according to FIFA documents and Rec. Sport Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) statistics.
FIFA recognizes Soh Chin Ann of Malaysia as the men’s all-time record appearance holder with 195 caps while the current active footballer with the most international appearances is Bader Al-Mutawa of Kuwait, with 186 caps.
