Harambee Stars defender Abud Omar has parted ways with Greek side AEL on mutual consent.

 

Abud joined the club in August 2021 from Ionikos but the club and the player decided to part ways in what they said was a decision reached based on financial reasons.

In a statement, AEL said: “AEL, for financial reasons concerning its survival, today terminated by mutual consent the cooperation contract with the international Kenyan football player Omar Abud. We wish Omar Abud every happiness in his football and family life because he is a wonderful child that we all loved and we expect him to be a member of our family again soon.

 

“Tomorrow we will make public the moving message he sent to President Alexios Kougia.”

 

The defender has represented four teams in the last four years and will be hoping to find a new club in the summer.
