Former Thika Queens striker Esse Akida has jetted out of the country to begin her journey with Greece top flight side PAOK Thessaloniki.

 

Pepeta can exclusively reports that the player left the country on Friday evening and is expected to be be in PAOK over the weekend to sign a one year deal with her new club.

According to the player, the journey ought to have come early but she experienced some difficulties with her VISA and work permit and had to sort the same before leaving the country.

 

“I ought to have left early in the month but there were challenges with the VISA. Im glad that everything is now solved and I can be able to join my new teammates,” Akida said.

 

Akida that she is ready for the task ahead having missed the club’s preseason training; a move that forces her to double her efforts to catch up with the rest.

 

“Our fitness coach (at PAOK) has been sending me the sessions and been doing that from home. I believe Im not far behind from the rest who were in preseason. Its just a matter of cohesion and understanding that’s remaining and Im confident that finding it wont be a problem,” Akida added.

 

Should she ink the deal, it will be the third European club for Akida who has been previously in the books of Ramat HaSharon FC of Israel and Turkish giants Besiktas.
