Tusker FC beat KCB FC 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Police Sacco Stadium to be the first team to qualify for the FKF Cup semi-finals.

After being beaten narrowly by Tusker three days ago, KCB was out to make thing rights and the earlier proceedings showed how they were determined to make it to the next stage of the competition. The duo of Eric Muli and Musa Masika were a constant threat each time they attacked but the Zedekiah Otieno side couldn’t just get the final edge when it came to getting the goal.

After ending the first half goalless, the bankers started the second half just as they did in the first and were unlucky not to take the lead when they hit the post minutes after the resumption.

Muli had beat his marker easily on the right side and dropped a pass in the Tusker box which was flicked by Masika, but with the ball heading goalwards after Brian Bwire had been beaten, Levin Odhiambo was to track back and clear the ball on the line. The half-cleared ball was recollected by Masika who placed the ball for Henry Onyango whose effort was to come off the bar as Tusker tried to contain the array of attacks.

Dspite KCB being the danger team, Tusker was to punish them for failing to take their chances when David Odoyo was to give them the lead in the 67th minute. The youth product was put through by Mike Oduor with the youngster wasting no time in pulling a piledriver that sailed past Gabriel Andika.

The brewers were to ensure the points were safe seven minutes from time with Humphrey Mieno winning the ball from Mulu who had tried to beat him and send a low cross across the goal which was tapped in by Deogratious Ojok.
