Kampala Queens also pushed forward and created some decent chances, but failed to make them count with Police head coach Beldine Odemba hailing Queens as a good side.
“We played against a strong and organized team. But it is good we collected maximum points,” said Odemba after the match.
In an earlier game of the day, Rayon Sports WFC of Rwanda saw off defending Champions Commercial Bank of Ethiopia 2-1.
Corale Odette gave the Rwanda giants the lead only after 4 minutes in the Group B match played at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya on Thursday. After the break Odette again rose to the occasion to make it 2-0 after 56 minutes when she cushioned the CBE defenders and finished off in style.
Rediet Matios pulled back a goal for the Ethiopian giants after 71 minutes. The two teams continued to create several scoring opportunities, but Rayon Sports WFC stood firm.
Action continues on Friday where JKT Queens will be up against JKU Princess from Zanzibar at the Ulinzi Stadium.
