Bomet however restored parity seven minutes later when James Khaleha towered above the visitors’ defence to head past Edwin Mukolwe in the Homeboyz goal. The goal seems to have given Bomet some sense of hope and should have gone ahead were it not for Potipher Odhiambo to block Hansel Ochieng off his tracks when he had weaved past Homeboyz defenders.

Chences flew from both ends before the half time break with Derrick Otanga and Rodgers Ouma issing glorious opportunities for the visitors to leave the sides levelled at the interval.

Boniface Onyango wasn’t going to miss at the start of second half when he rose highest to head a pinpoint cross from Estone Esiye and while Bomet pushed forward late on to get an equaliser, Homeboyz held on for their third win on the bounce.

The Patrick Odhiambo side are now top of the table with 13 points and are expected to stay there until the next match day unless Posta Rangers scores five unanswered goals against Muranga’s Seal on Thursday.
