Nairobi United have landed in Group B of the 2025/2026 CAF Confederation Cup competition in a draw staged on 3rd November 2025 at the studios of CAF’s broadcast partner, SuperSport, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The group is comprised of three-time Champions League winners Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, DR Congo’s AS Maniema, and Azam FC (Tanzania).
Naibois sealed a historic qualification to the group Stage after edging out Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel 7-6 in a dramatic penalty shootout on Sunday, October 26 after a 2-2 aggregate draw in regular time.

In the group, Wydad leads with the most participation in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, having participated five times, with a sixth appearance confirmed for the 2025/26 season. Nairobi United, AS Maniema and Azam FC have all earned their first CAF Confederation Cup group stage participation in the 2025/26 season.
Wydad AC is the most decorated club in the Moroccan domestic league, having won a record 22 Botola titles and nine Moroccan Throne Cups. The Casablanca-based club founded in 1937 has participated in the CAF Confederation Cup five times, with its best performance being a run to the quarterfinals during the 2024/2025 season. The club has never won the tournament.

AS Maniema has consistently competed in the top domestic league of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Linafoot, since returning in the 2017/18 season. While they have not won the league title, they have achieved strong finishes, including second place in 2020/21 and 2023/24 season.
The club has had greater success in the domestic cup competition, the Coupe du Congo, having won three times. AS Maniema has competed in the CAF Confederation Cup four times, but reached the group stage for the first time in the 2025/26 season.

Azam FC has played in the Tanzanian NBC Premier League since its promotion in 2008, and its domestic history is highlighted by winning the league title unbeaten in the 2013/14 season.
Azam FC’s best performance in the CAF Confederation Cup is qualifying for the group stage for the first time in their history in the 2025/26 season. Before this, they had several campaigns that ended in the qualifying rounds.
Nairobi United is set to increase its earnings if it successfully makes it out of the group stage. They will earn USD $550,000 (KSh 71.0 Million), USD $750,000 (KSh 96.9 Million), USD $1 Million (KSh 129.2 Million), and USD $2 Million (KSh 258.4 Million) respectively, should they qualify for the quarters, semi-finals, finish as Runners-up, or win the tournament.
Nairobi United will now wait to find out their matchday one opponents. Matchday one is slated to take place between November 21 and 23.
