“This result is a positive one for us because we took the three points (on unday). Our opponents, the first in the group, have nine points, we have six, that means we are still alive. All we want is to win our next game,” the tactician said after the match.
In their game against United, Ibenge felt the early goal settled nerves for his side and believes they played better than their opponents.
“We played well but regressed after the early goal. I feel they wanted to keep the tempo. We created a lot of chances but didn’t score. We want to play better football in our next games so that we make it to the next round,” he added.
Azam hosts Miniema Union this weekend before finishing their group proceedings with a clash away to Wydad Casablanca.
