DR Congo’s TP Mazembe will be meeting FAR Rabat of Morocco in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League finals.

Mazembe had to come from a goal down to record a 3-1 win over Edo Queens at Stade Larbi Zaouli earlier on Tuesday. After a goalless first half, Queens took the lead in the 64th minute as Emmem Essien and the Nigeria side were headed for a famous win until Mervielle Kajinga levelled matters six minutes from time for Mazembe to send the game into extra time.

An own goal from Queens compounded their woes before Mazembe confirmed their place in the finals of the competition with a goal from Marlene Kasaj from the penalty spot.

In another semifinal, FAR Rabat continued their 100%-win record in this year’s edition of the showpiece with a 2-1 victory against Masar at Stade El Abdi.

Safa Banouk put Rabat ahead in the 12th minute, which was cancelled by a 97th-minute equalizer from Maya Abouelwafa Abdelrazek from the penalty spot. Rabat broke Masar’s hearts as Doha El Madani scored the winning goal two minutes later.

FAR Rabat and TP Mazembe will now battle it out for the CAF Women’s Champions League crown at Stade El Abdi on Saturday, 23 November. Masar and Edo Queens are scheduled to square off in the match for 3rd place at Stade El Abdi on Friday, 22 November.
