Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere has lauded the charges following their win over Sofapaka FC on Sunday.
After a goalless first half, Ian Simiyu popped up with a brace in a game and Okere believes that his half time team talk made a huge difference.

“We spoke at halftime and we told the players that we needed to finish the chances we create. In the first half we had created and not scored,” Okere is quoted by the club’s media team. “We wanted to also improve our goal difference and it was important that we won with a good margin. I am happy that the players went into the second half encouraged and motivated with a good mentality and we finished on a high.”
Okere further hailed match winner Simiyu and expressed his delight in having striker Eric Kapaito back in contention.
“He (Simiyu) is a very important player in our set up. He executes the team strategy really well and we saw even against Shabana when he came on and gave us an equalizer. It is his time, let him shine.
“It is great to have Kapaito back. With his experience and eye for goal, he is a very instrumental player for us. I am also delighted to have Douglas make his debut with some few minutes and he showed us what he can do. I believe that for him now, the chance is there and he has to take it,” he added.
After going joint top with the win on Sunday, attention for Okere now shifts to their next game against Nairobi United on Wednesday.
