Harambee Starlets midfielder Corazone Aquino was snapped training with Burundi side Buja Queens ahead of the season.

The photo has elicited debate more so from the Simba SC fans who have been wondering why their player was in Burundi without an official communication from the club; Aquino still has a running contract with the team.

Pepeta has since reached out to the Burundi club who revealed that the former Soccer Queens player is at the club on a three-month loan contract as they work to be better in the CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifier.

“Aquino has not permanently signed for us as reported by others. She will be here for three months and will return to her parent club once this time is over. We want to do well in the Champions League and the coach felt that she will be a valuable addition for the time she will be with us,” Eric Douglas Samir, the club’s Communications Officer, told Pepeta.

Simba Queens wont be part of the competition this season with Tanzania set to be represented by JKT Queens. Aquino’s Buja found themselves in Group A of the CECAFA Zone Qualifiers together with Kampala Queens of Uganda, Ethiopia’s CBE, FAD of Djibouti, and Yei Gaskets of Sudan.
