Kylian Mbappe marked his first game as the France captain with a brace as they ran 4-0 winners over the Netherlands in a Euro 2024 Qualifier match staged on Friday night.
Antoine Griezmann opened the scoring just two minutes in at the Stade de France, with Dayot Upamecano adding another soon after in what was Ronald Koeman’s first game in charge of the Dutch after his reappointment last year.

Mbappe grabbed Les Bleus’ third with just 21 minutes on the clock and even though the Netherlands managed to stem the tide after the interval, Mbappe found the net late on with a superbly taken strike.
In other games on Friday, Romelu Lukaku grabbed a hattrick in Belgium’s 3-0 win over Sweden. Just like some managers on the day, it was Domenico Tedesco first game of the Red Devils with Lukaku putting them ahead via a header following a wonderful cross from Dodi Lukebakio, adding a second just after the break by squeezing the ball in at the near post before being teed up by Bakayoko for his hattrick on a night which saw Zlatan Ibrahimovic make his return for Sweden.
