Gor Mahia striker Benson Omala is the FKF Premier League Golden Boot winner after bagging 19 goals in the 2023/24 season.
Omala had started the season brilliantly had opened a huge gap between him and his challengers towards the end of the first leg but the resurgence of Tito Okello of Kenyan Police FC and the return of John Mark Makwatta of Kariobangi Sharks midway through the season had threatened his surge.

The former Western Stima man experienced a goal drought in the second half of the season allowing his closest challengers to close in with the award having been decided on the last day of the season where Omala bagged a brace in their 4-3 win over Bidco United.
Okello, who had become a favourite at one point would blame his injury towards the end of the season for his miss having had to be withdrawn in the first half on their season-ender against Sharks which ended in a 2-2 draw; the game having Makwatta add to his tally.
Eric Kapaito and Austin Odhiambo were the other players who had a shout in the golden boot race but they couldn’t just do enough to find the goals to walk away with the award.
