Former Gor Mahia midfielder Rogers Mugisha has returned to Uganda where he has joined Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) on a three-year contract.
The 22-year-old rose to prominence during the 2021 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, where his eye-catching performances earned him a place in the Team of the Tournament, cementing his status as one of the brightest young talents in Ugandan football.

“KCCA FC is delighted to announce the signing of dynamic winger Rogers Mugisha,” KCCA said in a statement. “The former Uganda U17 and U20 international joins the Cityzens on a three-year contract, bringing a wealth of talent and experience to the club’s attack.
On his side, Mugisha expressed joy at joining the 13-time Uganda Premier League champions saying, “Signing for KCCA FC is a dream come true. This is one of the biggest clubs in the country. I am ready to give my all for the badge. I know the expectations are high, but I am confident in my abilities and look forward to contributing to the team’s success.”

KCCA FC co-Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo added, “We are happy to have Rogers on board. He is a player we have been monitoring for a while. His speed and directness on the wing will add a new dimension to our attack. He fits perfectly with our philosophy of playing an exciting, attacking brand of football. We believe he has the potential to become a key player for us.”
Mugisha becomes the fifth notable addition for the Cityzens in the current transfer window, following Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Herbert Achayi, Lazaro Muhindo, and Enock Walusimbi.
Apart from Gor Mahia, Mugisha has previously featured for AC Horsens in Denmark, Mbarara City FC, UPDF FC and Kitara FC.
