Michael Olunga scored in his Al Arabi debut as they battled to a 2-2 draw against Al Wakrah in the Qatari Stars League on Friday evening.

Olunga opened the scoring on the quarter hour mark but Wakrah responded with an equalizer three minutes later through Moroccan midfielder Amine Zouhzouh.

Pablo Sarabia, one of Al Arabi’s summer signing regained Al Arabi’s lead from the penalty spot when Egyptian international Hamdi Fathi conceded a penalty after pushing an Al Arabi player inside the box.

Al Wakrah fought back after the break with substitute Redouane Berkane, who replaced Zouhzouh at half time, restoring parity once again in the 68th minute for a share of spoils.

Olunga was named the man of the match and will be hoping to continue with his scoring feat when they face Al Gharafa in the next game; their next opponent having started the season with a 4-2 win over Umm Salal.
