Harambee Starlets midfielder Mwanahalima ‘Dogo’ Jereko has completed a permanent transfer to Danish top-flight side HB Køge Women, sealing a deal that will keep her at the club until the summer of 2027.
Jereko first joined HB Køge on loan from NWSL side Kansas City Current during the summer transfer window, and her impressive performances have convinced the Danish outfit to secure her services long-term.

The Kenyan international quickly won over the technical bench with her work rate, creativity, and consistency in midfield. HB Køge’s sports director Jonas Nielsen confirmed the signing, praising Jereko for seamlessly settling into the team’s structure.
“We are really happy that Jereko is continuing at the club. She is a talented player who has quickly become an important part of the team. It was quite natural for us to continue the collaboration, especially because she thrives here and fits perfectly into the dynamics of the squad,” said Nielsen.

Since arriving in Denmark, the 28-year-old has made 13 appearances and scored one goal, netting in an away fixture against FCV Farul Constanța. Her versatility and composure have made her a crucial figure in HB Køge’s campaign.
Jereko expressed her delight at extending her stay, describing the club as the perfect environment for her growth. “I am staying at the club because it feels like home. I have a really good connection with the people here, and I believe in the direction we are moving in. I am really happy to be here and cannot wait to keep giving everything I have,” she said.
Her move to HB Køge followed a high-profile transfer to Kansas City Current in the United States, where limited playing time hindered her progress. The loan switch to Denmark has proven pivotal, allowing her to regain form and reestablish herself at the club and international level.
Jereko has been equally influential for the Harambee Starlets, playing a starring role in Kenya’s qualification for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. She scored in both legs of the final qualifying round against The Gambia, helping the national team return to the continental stage for the first time since 2016.
HB Køge Women close out the year with a home fixture in the A-League this Saturday against FC Nordsjælland, where Jereko will be eager to continue her strong run of form.
