Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi is set to reveal the team that is set to face Comoros in a double header clash in November.

Stars were to take on Comoros earlier this year but the match was among the many cancelled by the Confederations of African Football (CAF) due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

New Call Ups

Kimanzi is set to name a chunk of players who did duty in Stars last game against Togo but a few new faces should be in the team going by the other club activities.

Locally, it’s still hard to pick the new faces that might be with the team since football is yet to return after the Kenyan Premier League was suspended midway through the season and clubs undergoing secret training since the government is yet to officially allow game and training back.

Internationally, there might be a call up for striker Jonah Ayunga who has managed two competitive games in the English League One with Bristol City Rovers; the player expected to provide cover for Michael Olunga with John Avire still injured.

There have been reports that defender Clarke Oduor of Barnsley and David Sesay of Crawley Town have been approached and it remains to be seen if they’ll accept the Federation’s calls.; the same group having goalkeeper Arnold Origi who was to be called for the Comoros game earlier in the year were it not for the pandemic.

Active players like Cliff Nyakeya, Victor Wanyama, Joseph Okumu, Anthony Akumu, Athuman Gonzalez, Eric Johanna and Johanna Omolo are all expected to make the cut.

Absentees

Kimanzi might be forced to call up a new left back since the duo of Abud Omar and Eric Ouma are all expected to be out. Abud has been without a club for more than a year now and missed Stars last two games with Ouma expected to be back in action in October following an injury while representing Swedish giants AIK.
