Harambee Stars in a huddle before a past match. The team to face Comoros and Madagascar in friendly games has been named.

The Senegal Football Federation has confirmed that the Lions of Teranga will play Kenya’s Harambee Stars in an international friendly match during the FIFA window on November 18 at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 GMT/1800 EAT and will serve as an important test for both sides as they prepare for upcoming continental and global assignments.

In their official communication on Facebook, the Senegalese federation stated, “Senegal will play against Kenya in a second friendly match this November 2025. It will take place on November 18 at 15:00 GMT at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya (Turkey).”

This will be the first meeting between the two sides since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, which the West African nation eventually lost in the final to Algeria. Baghdad Bounedjah’s bizarre second-minute goal was all that Algeria needed to secure a 1-0 win over Senegal.

In the 2019 AFCON group stage match, Senegal defeated Harambee Stars 3-0. The Harambee Stars and Senegal had also met earlier at the 2004 AFCON, with Kenya suffering a similar loss.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) initially announced two friendlies against Madagascar and Comoros for the Benni McCarthy side on November 14 and 18 in Turkey.

Stars were set to play Madagascar on November 14 before playing Comoros on either November 17 or 18. However, FKF is now set to drop one match to accommodate Senegal, although it has not disclosed which one.

Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has already named his squad for the friendlies in Turkey. Spain-based youngster Aldrine Kibet and Zamalek youngster Baron Ochieng received their debut call-up to the national team.

Other notable inclusions include Ovella Ochieng and Jonah Ayunga, who make their return. Absent from the squad is captain Michael Olunga, despite not carrying an injury.
