Karim Benzema’s agent Karim Djaziri has hit out on France head coach Didier Deschamps after he denied the striker a chance to play in the latter stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Benzema was ruled out of the tournament just days before the showpiece due to an injury but his name was not scrapped off the final list presented by Deschamps who went all the way to the finals of the competition.

There were questions as to why Benzema wasn’t allowed to return to the squad in the knockout phase of the competition after it emerged that he was fit and ready to feature and even a rumor appeared that he was ready to start in the final game against Argentina.
Taking to Twitter, Djaziri added fuel to the speculations by posting alongside a video showing the extent of his client’s pre-World Cup injury: “I put that there but before that, I consulted 3 specialists who confirm the diagnosis that Benzema could have been fit from the last 16 to at least be on the bench! Why did you ask him to leave so quickly?”
Benzema called it a day with the French national team just days after the final and it isn’t clear if the decision by Deschamps not to involve him in the later stages of the competition might have angered him.
