Antoine Griezmann will end an incredible record of being involved in France’s last 84 (eighty-four!) matches this international break after he withdrew from consideration due to injury.
Part of the impressive Les Bleus outfit that has won the European Championships and the World Cup in the last decade, Griezmann is a key cog in Didier Deschamps’ arsenal and after a tricky spell with Barcelona is firmly back in form.

The 32-year-old has scored 11 times for Atletico Madrid this season, as well as grabbing 7 assists in 25 La Liga outings. However, he managed just 45 minutes against Barcelona at the weekend and is now set for a period of recovery over the upcoming international break.
Now withdrawn from the France squad, there is no chance of Griezmann going any further than 84 games in the France side, and he will be replaced by Lazio midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.
France face Germany and Chile in friendly matches over the next week as they warm up for the European championships.
Barring a major injury, Griezmann will be a key part of the squad for that tournament, but for now he must watch from the sidelines.
