Harambee Stars defender Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma wont play any part in the remaining games of the season for Raków Częstochowa after picking an injury in their last game.
The left-back was withdrawn in the 29th minute as Rakow went 2-0 down to Zaglebie Lubin in the Polish top tier last week and the latest tests show that the player suffered another injury setback. With only three games left, and the injury ruling him out for a month, the player won’t be available for the club again this season.

“Erick Otieno also ended the match against Zagłębie Lubin with an injury, leaving the field in the 29th minute. The tests showed that our player had a torn semimembranosus muscle. Unfortunately, we won’t see Erick on the pitch this season,” a statement from the club noted.
In a separate interview with Pepeta, the former Gor Mahia defender said he was disappointed by the latest setback but was already looking to start his rehab in Kenya as he gears to come back strongly.
“It is another setback because I wanted to finish the season strongly. I’ll be back in the country (Kenya) to begin my rehabilitation and I’m already looking forward to coming back stronger ahead of the new season,” he said.
The injury will be a blow for Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat ahead of next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers matches against Burundi and Ivory Coast.
Ouma missed Stars’ last games in Malawi due to an injury and has only managed eleven games for Rakow since joining them earlier this year from Swedish giants AIK.
