Lionel Messi moved second in all-time men’s international scoring charts after being on the scoresheet as Argentina beat Canada 2-0 in the Copa America.

Before Tuesday’s semi-final against Canada, the Inter Miami man had just one assist and a missed penalty and many had questioned his usefulness for Argentina in the entire tournament.
At MetLife Stadium on Wednesday morning, the midfielder’s slick flick in front of goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau doubled the lead for his country which means he has moved beyond Ali Daei in all-time men’s international scoring charts with 109 goals after 186 caps.
He’s scored in the World Cup semi-finals, Copa América semi-finals, Champions League semi-finals, Club World Cup semi-finals, Copa del Rey semi-finals and the U20 World Cup semi-finals.
