Kenya national men’s football team head coach Engin Firat has named a provisional squad of 27 players that will head to camp and prepare for the upcoming 2025 AFCON Qualifier ties against Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The provisional squad has a mixture of local and international-based players with 12 of them coming from the local FKF Premier League as the other 15 drawn from foreign based clubs.
France-based Joseph Okumu who turns out for Stade Reims makes a return to the squad after missing May 2026 World Cup Qualifier matches against Ivory Coast and Burundi. KCB FC attacker Patrick Otieno earns his maiden call-up to the senior team after featuring in Kenya U-20 and U-23 sides.
Stars are in group J in the qualifiers alongside Cameroon and will start seeking a ticket for the 2025 AFCON by playing the qualifier against Zimbabwe on September 6th in Kampala, Uganda before playing their second game against Namibia in South Africa.
