Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has called up midfielder Alwyn Tera to the latest squad ahead of ties against Zimbabwe and Namibia.

Armenia-based Tera arrives to replace defender Johnstone Omurwa who was given time off by the Turkish with reports rife that he is set to complete a deal with an Israeli-based side before the transfer window closes.

Tera has been called up before by Firat and will be feeling at home as he has compatriot Amos Nondi who is his teammate at Ararat Armenia with both having been regulars in the first team where they participated in the UEFA Conference League earlier in the season.

Apart from Omurwa, Firat is sweating over the availability of captain Michael Olunga who is yet to report to camp as he is nursing an injury; a move that might force him to hand St. Mirren striker Jonah Ayunga his first start with the national team.

Stars are set to begin their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Zimbabwe on Friday, September 6, 2024, at the Mandela National Stadium, Uganda before taking on Namibia four days later.
