The 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) co-hosts Kenya will be up against South Sudan in the first qualification round of the competition.
The aggregate winner of the tie will advance to the final qualification phase, where they will face the winner between Djibouti and Rwanda.

The first leg of matches is set to take place between October 25-27, 2024, with the return leg scheduled for November 1-3, 2024. The final phase is set to be held between December 20-29, 2024.
Apart from Kenya, other co-hosts of the 2024 competition will be Uganda, and Tanzania with the tournament that is set to take place from February 1-28, 2025 being a test for the preparedness of the three nations ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations which they will host.
As hosts, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania have already secured automatic qualification but the CECAFA region will have one additional representative at the tournament while other zones have 3 representatives each. This will be the 8th edition of the competition.
