Harambee Stars defender Frank Odhiambo is attending trials with Swedish third-tier side IF Karlstad as he seeks to join them for the 2025 season.

Odhiambo is in the books of the country’s top-flight side Djugardens IF, where he joined in 2022, but is yet to feature for the first team having spent the last two seasons on loan deals.

The 22-year-old is in his second week of trials at Karlstad and featured for them in a preseason match over the weekend against IFK Haninge; his club now saying that they are working on sending him on loan again.

“Our ambition is to loan Odhiambo over the season, but all the details are not yet clear,” Djugardens Sporting Director Thomas Andersson is quoted by the club’s website.

Since joining Djurgården from Gor Mahia FC ahead of 2022, Odhiambo has been on loan at IFK Haninge, Vasalund IF and AFC Eskilstuna and has a contract with Djugardens until 2026.

Karlstad who finished in sixth place in the league last season, has been home to another Kenyan before having signed defender Eugene Asike in 2022.
