Premier League Soccer side Cape Town Spurs Chief Executive Officer Alexi Efstathiou has called out the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) for approaching their assistant coach Vasili Manousakis.

There have been reports that Manousakis will be joining Benny McCarthy’s bench at the helm of the Kenyan football national team something that hasn’t sat well with his club who have claimed that they haven’t been approached in the deal.

In an interview with SA News reporter Joshua Henricks, Manousakis termed FKF as unprofessional and insisted that they expect their assistant coach in their next game.

“We are calling out the Kenya Federation and the agency involved for their “unprofessional behaviour,” Efstathiou said. “Let’s set the facts straight. Vasili is contracted until the end of the season, and we’ve had ZERO contact from the Kenya Federation. Our full technical team, including Vasili, will be on the bench for our crucial fixture on Friday.”

The reports indicate that McCarthy who has been chosen to replace Engin Firat as the Harambee Stars boss will be coming with Vasili and as his assistant and Moeneeb Josephs who will act as the keeper trainer.

Cape Town travels to Amuzulu in their next game where they will be looking to improve on their 12th position after gunning 21 points all season.
