The Gambia national football team Head Coach Jonathan Mckinstry has announced his 24-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Ivory Coast.
The former Gor Mahia Head Coach has called up a strong contingent, headlined by Brighton and Hove Albion’s in-form winger Yankuba Minteh.

Minteh, who has been making waves in the English Premier League, is joined by Gibril Sillah, the red-hot forward from Tanzania’s Azam FC, who has been in prolific form. The squad also features key players from European leagues, including Derby County’s Eboue Adams, Metz’s Ablie Jallow, and Frosinone’s Ebrima Darboe.
The Scorpions currently sit fifth in Group F with just three points from four matches, having won only once and lost three times. They will be desperate to turn their campaign around when they face Kenya and Ivory Coast in the upcoming fixtures.
Group leaders Ivory Coast have set the pace with 10 points, while Kenya sits just above The Gambia in fourth place with five points. A win against Kenya would see The Gambia leapfrog them in the standings, boosting their qualification hopes.
