The Uganda Under-17 team, the Cubs, will play the Gambia in the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations Playoffs to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Uganda went down to Zambia in their last group game of the tournament on Sunday after beating Tanzania and losing to Morocco in their opening game; a move that saw them meet the third best team in Group C, which was the Gambia, who lost their last group game against Tunisia on Monday night.

There is also a window for two other slots, with the teams that finished third across all four groups facing off to complete the number. While Uganda will face The Gambia on Saturday, 12th April, Egypt will face Angola on the same day.

The top 10 teams at the U-17 AFCON, which ends on April 19th, have automatically qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar as the CAF representatives.

The countries that already booked a World Cup slot include Morocco, Zambia, Burkina Faso, South Africa, Tunisia, Senegal, Ivory Coast and Mali.
