Congo has named Barthélémy Ngatsono as the head coach for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) set to be hosted in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
Ngatsono who is not new in this role returns to the fold for the first time since 2021 when he served as a caretaker coach of the Red Devils and previously led Congo to two CHAN editions (2018 and 2020).

On his return, Ngatsono has named a 27-man preliminary squad to commence preparations with the country having earlier been thrown out of the tournament and replaced by Equatorial Guinea. However, after a successful appeal, CAF reinstated them.
They are pooled in Group D alongside defending Champions Senegal, Nigeria and Sudan.
