Harambee Stars attacker William Wilson Lenkupae is among a quartet of players released by Australian side Central Coast Mariners.

Lenkupae made headlines in the Kenyan football scene in March 2025 when he announced himself on the international stage in the most dramatic way possible, scoring a last-gasp equalizer for Harambee Stars in their 3-3 draw against The Gambia in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Little was known about him before his call up by head coach Benni McCarthy but he has remained a consistent figure under the South African having been called in the country’s last friendlies against Chad.

But the attacker will now be looking for a new club after Mariners included him in a list of players who wont represent the team in the new season.

In a communication on Thursday, Mariner said,” Central Coast Mariners can today confirm the departure of Alou Kuol, who moves on to a new opportunity in his career. Kuol departs with over 100 Mariners appearances to his name in total, after his second spell with the club.

“The club can also today confirm Noah Smith, Will Wilson and Sasha Kuzevski have all departed the club upon the expiry of their contracts, whilst Jack Warshawsky has taken up an opportunity in the NPL.”

Born 23 years ago in London, Wilson joined Mariners in August 2023 from another Australian club Melbourne Victory; the player having spent his youth career with Victory’s Youth team.

He leaves having only made five appearances for his team this season with his last appearance for the club coming in January 2025 in a 4-1 loss away to Sydney in the A-League. He was part of the Central Coast team that won the league in the 2023 season in the same season that they bagged the AFC Cup title.
