Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has named Real Sociedad winger Job Ochieng Ng’uono in his squad two pivotal World Cup qualifier matches against The Gambia and Seychelles.

Nguono who plays for Real Sociedad B, and scored in their weekend win over Real Zaragoza, joins a list of players that includes 13 players picked from the recent historic African Nations Champions (CHAN) campaign.

There is no place however for midfielder Austin Odhiambo who was among the key players for Kenya in the CHAN competition.

Kenya will host The Gambia on Friday, September 5, 2025 then take on Seychelles four days later with all the games set for Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Currently, Kenya sits fourth in their group with 6 points, behind Ivory Coast, Burundi, and Gabon. Ivory Coast lead the group with 16 points, followed by Gabon on 15 and Burundi with 10 points.
