Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has promoted Kenya U20 striker Lawrence Okoth to the senior team ahead of Kenya’s final two FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Stars have a date against Burundi and Ivory Coast with both games marking the conclusion of the Harambee Stars’ qualification campaign to the World tournament.

Okoth was part of the Kenya U20 team that represented the nation in the last U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament where he netted two goals; the player has since moved to Finland where he signed for SJK.

Kenya will first face Burundi on October 9, 2025, at Intwari Stadium before wrapping up their campaign against Ivory Coast on October five days later at the Alassane Outtara Stadium.
