Mathare United head coach John Kamau has hailed his captain Ellie Asieche after je notched the winner in their clash against KCB FC.

“Ellie Asieche is a very important player for this team,” Kamau said in his post-match interview. “He scored a few set piece goals even last season and as a leader he is showing the rest how things are done.”

On the game, Kamau revealed they had analyses KCB from their previous game against Tusker and knew that they had to be at their best in the first half if they were to get something from the game.

“We analysed KCB’s game against Tusker and we realized that they were strong in the first half and regressed in the second. We knew they were going to force us into mistakes in the first half so we had to contain them in the half and luckily we found a goal,” he added.

Kamau will be hoping to replicate the same outing when they take on Tusker FC in their next game as they seek to better last season’s performance in the league.
