Defensive midfielder Sven Yidah has given reasons why he ditched Kariobangi Sharks for Kenyan Premier League newbies Nairobi City Stars.

 

Yidah officially joined Simba wa Nairobi on Monday and according to the player, a lot of his former teammates convinced him to join the club and was thrilled to be joining an ‘ambitious project’ with the Kawangware based side.

 

“I am happy to join Nairobi City Stars. They have an ambitious project and I am eager to play a part in making it a success.

“I will also be joining my former teammates (Ebrima) Sanneh, Shittu (Salim Abdalla) and Wycliffe (Otieno) who also played a huge role in convincing me to be part of this project. I promise work hard and to be full committed every day and any day,” Yidah is quoted by the club’s website.

 

On his part Team coordinator Samson Otieno said of the midfielder’s arrival; “His defensive acumen was a great attraction to us and he was our number choice. We are glad he has taken his position ahead of a long list of interested players.

 

“The experience he carries from Kariobangi Sharks will be of great value to City Stars. I welcome him on board.”

 

Yidah who will wear the number 18 jersey had 97 league appearances for Sharks this after joining them from Ligi Ndogo 2016.
