Harambee Stars defender Aboud Omar has joined Greek side PAE Ionikos for an undisclosed period.
While confirming the arrival of Aboud, the club said: “PAE Ionikos is pleased to announce the start of its cooperation with Aboud Omar.
“Born on September 9, 1992 (28 years old), the Kenyan international left-back, who was born in Mombasa, came to an agreement with the management of the team and signed his contract.”

Aboud has been out of action for over a year after parting ways with Romania side Sepsi OSK in July 2019 and according to the player he was ready for the new challenge to help them achieve their goals.
“I feel very happy to wear the Ionian jersey. From the first moment the interest arose, I searched the internet and saw how important Ionikos is with a long history. I know that the club has a top organization and an administration that works hard to bring Ionikos to its natural position.
“My communication with the people of the club was excellent and I am happy to be here. May all that is happening worldwide with the coronavirus end soon and on my part, I am ready to work hard and help my team achieve its goals,” Aboud said during his unveiling.
In the coming season, Ionikos will participate in the Super League 2 (Greece second tier) after two consecutive promotions.
They play their home games at the 6000 capacity Neapolis Public Stadium with their clubs being blue and white.
Aboud won’t be new in Greece having featured for Peneggialios in 2015. He has had stints with Slavia Sofia (Bulgaria) and Club Brugge (Belgium) in his European adventure.
