The world football governing body FIFA has cleared four players to feature for Gor Mahia in the coming season.
With a number of their new players having represented teams outside the country in the past season, the named players have been handed their International Transfer Certificate (ITC) by the Football Kenya Federation and hence are free to feature for the team.
The four are midfielder John Macharia whose last station was with FC Guria in the Georgian league, Burundian Jules Ulimwengu from Rayon Sports (Rwanda), Tito Okello from Vipers (Uganda) and Cameroonian Bertrand Konfor, formerly of Al Mudhabi (Oman).

Speaking after being considered free to feature for his new side, midfielder Macharia, in an interview with the Gor Mahia website team said: “I am so happy to receive the news that the ITC application process has successfully gone through. It’s a good feeling… my previous club wanted me to go back and so, I wasn’t sure what was in the store about my move to Gor Mahia.
“This is good for me because it feels good to train with a team knowing well you are free to play in any competitive match. Now, I have to work… and work hard to achieve the best at my new club.”
The cleared players are now expected to be included in the club’s CAF Champions League; the team slated to take on Tusker FC in their first game of the season as they seek to defend their title.
