AFC Leopards new coach Tomas Trucha is expected to arrive in the country on Sunday to begin his preparation with the team.

Leopards had settled on the Czech Republic tactician to take over from Anthony Kimani who is set to leave the country to further his coaching studies abroad.

The tactician arrives with a series of experience having coached in Botswana where he was in charge of Township Rollers and Orapa United.

Leopards have been under Kimani since December 2019 after they parted ways with Rwandese Casa Mbungo with the former national team captain expected to slot as Trucha’s assistant to help with the transition before leaving the country early next year.

Trucha’s first aim will be to try and bring the glory days back at Leopards with their last success in the league coming in 1998; the club already tying the duo of Collins Sichenje and goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan to new deals.

Apart from the duo, Washington Munene’s deal from Wazito has been made permanently with Leopards promoting youngster Lewis Bandi from the youth team.

The team opens their season with a tie against Western Stima in November.
