Football Kenya Federation (FKF) appointed Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee as the new Harambee Stars head coach on Wednesday.
Even though the former Tusker FC tactician didn’t reveal his assistants, sources close to Pepeta can authoritatively reveal that Mulee will be assisted by former Harambee Stars captain Musa Otieno and Twahir Muhiddin.
The trio has been coach instructors under the current regime and has been responsible for overseeing coaching workshops over the country in that period.
Mulee arrives at the helm of the national team to replace Francis Kimanzi who left his role in what FKF described as ‘a mutual consent’ on Tuesday; days after leading Harambee Stars to a 2-1 win over Zambia in a friendly match.

Muhiddin and Otieno are not strangers in the national team bench with the latter having been an assistant under Bobby Williamson. Muhiddin himself has been the head coach of the team at some point and worked with Mulee as an assistant during the reign of the late Reinhard Fabisch.
The trio will now be tasked in leading Stars to the 2021 African Cup of Nations and the 202 World Cup slated for Qatar.
The 2021 AFCON Qualification is already on with Kimanzi leaving when Stars are placed third in a group that has Comoros, Egypt and Togo; Kimanzi already recording two draws in the first two matches against Egypt and Togo.
In the World Cup qualifier, Kenya is in the same group as neighbours Rwanda and Uganda together with Mali.
