Harambee Stars striker Michael Olunga is the 2020 Japanese J1 League, top scorer.
Olunga scored a goal in the club’s last game of the season on Saturday morning where his Kashiwa Reysol team lost a two-goal lead to go down 3-2 Kawasaki Frontale.

The goal on Saturday was Olunga’s 28th of the season; this being ten more than his closest challenger Everaldo of Kashima who bagged 18 goals. By winning the golden boot, Olunga will earn a total of Ksh529,000 for his exploits.
Kashiwa finished seventh in the league with Olunga scoring almost half of their goals; the team having bagged 60 goals the entire season.
Olunga has one more game to go before he can close the season with Kashiwa with his team set to take Tokyo in a J-League Cup match slated for January 4, 2021.
