Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna is upbeat that the team can overturn the 6-0 deficit as they take on Algeria side CR Belouizdad on Wednesday in the second leg, first round, of the CAF Champions League.
The Algerian side leads 6-0 following their win in the first leg held in Algeria and while the fixture seems done, Muguna who returned to training this week after missing the first leg with a rib injury believes not all is lost.

“I know it will be an enormous task but all is not lost. They scored the six goals in 90 minutes and we have the 90 minutes here too so anything is possible,” Muguna said in the last team training session on Tuesday afternoon.
The midfielder’s sentiments were echoed by stand in coach Sammy Omollo who said that they were looking for a positive result as it will be beneficial in their upcoming games in continental competition.
“Ours is to ensure that we get a positive result here at home. It will be good for confidence boost because we will still be participating in continental games no matter the result on Wednesday (today),” Omolo said.
The aggregate winner of the tie will be making it to the group stage of the CAF Champions League with the loser being demoted to the last qualification round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
