The Kenya U23 team, the Emerging Stars, will learn about their CECAFA opponents on Friday 25, June 2021.
The body’s executive director Mr. Auka Gacheo confirmed to members of the association that the draws will be conducted on zoom on Friday with the regional tournament set to be played in Ethiopia between July 3-18th.

According to the regulations, the U-23 players who will be allowed to play in the tournament must have been born on or after 1st, January 1998 and the lower limit must be at least 18 years by the end of the calendar year in which the competition is played. Each team will also be allowed to field three over-age players at the tournament which opens the CECAFA calendar.
According to a communication from the body, all the CECAFA members except Rwanda had confirmed participation. But the Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA) Secretary-General, Regis Uwayezu told Cecafaonline.com on Tuesday night that they will confirm by June 23rd.
