A goal a piece from Richard Odada and Michael Olunga was all Harambee Stars needed to beat Rwanda 2-1 in a 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier match staged on Monday afternoon.
With the current happening in Kenyan football where the Federation had been suspended by the Ministry of Sports, Michael Olunga put smiles on the faces of the handful of fans who had made their way into the Nyayo Stadium by opening the scoring proceedings inside two minutes.

The dominant Stars doubled their lead in the 15th minute through Richard Odada who tucked in a penalty after Eric Ouma had been brought down in the Rwanda box.
The Rwandese however had other ideas and came in the second half a different team. After some substitutions from the Vincent Mashami charges, they were to reduce the arrears in the 66th minute through Olivier Niyonzima. Ernest Sugira was then presented with a chance to restore parity for the Rwandese but he blazed his effort wide much to the amazement of his teammates.
In what was Engin Firat last match, Kenya finishes their group games with six points after one win, three draws, and two losses. Their opposition of the day Rwanda collected just one point to finish last. Mali (16) and Uganda (9) finished first and second respectively.
