Tanzania giants Simba SC have expressed interest in signing Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Anthony Akumu.
Simba was one of the teams that showed interest in the player in 2019 while he was still at Zesco United but the player chose to go down South where things haven’t gone as he had planned where he has not enjoyed proper game time.

Reports from Thesouthafrican now claims that the Tanzanian will be going for the player after he was transfer-listed by Chiefs where he still has a year left on his deal. There have been reports that Chiefs won’t stand in the way of the player should he find a club suitable for him.
Reached for a comment on the same by Pepeta, Akumu was coy stating that his concentration now was to re-energize and come better next season.
“It’s been a tough season and currently my concentration is to work harder this holiday. When there is anything new about my career I’ll let you people know,” he said.
There have been reports that Simba might lose defender Pascal Wawa in the coming months and will use the slot to rope in Akumu as they look to wrestle the league title from arch-rivals Yanga SC.
