Harambee Stars midfielder Johanna Omolo has been compensated by his former club Kocaelispor.
Omolo joined the side in August 2021 on a one-year deal but his contract was terminated before the end of his contract with the player said to have settled on a compensation package with his former employers.
Omolo together with Cameroonian Georges Mandjeck were some of the players allowed to leave the club as they were cutting down the cost in the Turkish second tier and according to Spor41, the duo’s files have since been closed.

“A mutual payment commitment was made with Kenyan Johanna Omolo and Cameroonian Georges Mandjeck, who played in Kocaelispor last season,” the tabloid noted.
“The green and black management made these payments and deposited approximately 40 thousand Euros (KES 4.8Million) into the accounts of the players. Thus, the files of both were completely closed.”
Mandjeck has since found a club in Cyprus’ Nea Salamis while Omolo is still a free agent after his departure.
The Kenyan has predominantly played in Belgium where he represented CS Vise, Beerschot AC, Lommel United, Royal Antwerp, and Cercle Brugge. His other stints have seen him represent CS Fola and BB Erzurumspor.
